Bio

This year is my 12th year education and seventh year at Houston County High school. I went into education because I was blessed with a younger brother who has an intellectual disability. Watching him face challenges and work so hard to overcome the struggles he experiences, gave me the motivation to want to be an advocate for students who faced areas of struggle.

I graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 2005. I received my bachelor's degree in Interrelated Special Education from Georgia SouthWestern State University in 2009 and my Master's in Special Education Curriculum & Instruction in 2010. I most recently earned a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University in 2019.

I love the opportunity to be able to witness students be successful in both school and in life. I am so blessed to be able to see students push through adversity and challenges and come out on the other side as better students and people.

I have been married to my husband, John, for 7 years. I have a 16-year-old stepson, Jack, who is a Junior at Southeast Bulloch High School in Statesboro, and a 5-year-old son, Brannen, who is in Kindergarten.
