HCHS Mock Trial

Membership Requirement: Students join voluntarily. We recruit through the Club Fair and word of mouth. Interested students need to be able to balance their academics and extra-curricular activities while dedicating time and work effort to be on this team. There is a $50 yearly membership fee.
 
Mission/Purpose: Students will learn about the judicial system while honing oral advocacy and critical thinking skills through the Georgia High School Mock Trial (HSMT) competition. This unique program turns courtrooms into classrooms, giving students a unique opportunity to learn the basics of evidence and trial procedure from lawyers in their community. Then, teams put their knowledge and preparation to the test at competitions for the opportunity to become our state champion and represent Georgia at the National High School Mock Trial Competition.
 
Activities: Training members for the Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition, Preparing members for future success in higher education and the legal profession, Building skills in leadership, professionalism, speech, debate, and performance, Fostering community and fellowship between members.
