Bio
Michael Tomsik was born and raised in southern California. After high school graduation, he spent two years working as a wildland firefighter for the California Conservation Corps. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1998 and served as a helicopter mechanic with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. In 2000 he received a three-year ROTC scholarship to attend Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, studying abroad in Spain and Mexico during his undergraduate studies. He graduated in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and was commissioned as an officer in the Army. While in the service, he completed flight school to pilot the Blackhawk helicopter and also served as a medical service corps officer and military intelligence officer. His service took him across the U.S. and around the world, with assignments and deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Germany, and Japan. In 2015 he earned his Masters of Arts in International Relations from Webster University.
Mr. Tomsik came to Warner Robins in 2018 to serve with the JSTARS program. He retired from the Army with almost 23 years of service in the summer of 2023. This year he will be teaching Spanish I.
Mr. Tomsik is married to Julie Tomsik who works at Bonaire Primary School and together they have 2 children, Benjamin (5th grade) and Lily (1st grade).
