Mrs. Jamie Stewart grew up in Houston County, graduating from Perry High in 2002.  In high school she was an active member of many clubs and the Pride of the Crossroads Marching Band. Thanks to being a part of this organization she can claim she is a movie star - participating as part of the band in Disney's Remember the Titans.

After high school, she went on to attend the University of Georgia with intentions of becoming a pharmacist.  She changed her major, however, in the Spring of 2004 to Secondary Mathematics Education.  Her high school math teacher, Mrs. Mary Gentry, had everything to do with her decision & she has high hopes that she will inspire students to love mathematics the way Mrs. Gentry did for her.  She graduated from UGA in the spring of 2006.

Mrs. Stewart completed her student teaching at Commerce High School and after graduating from UGA began her teaching career at Stephens County Middle School in Toccoa, Georgia.  She taught 6th, 7th, & 8th grade mathematics (QCC & GPS).  After Mrs. Stewart's husband, Daniel, graduated from college, he was offered a Worship Pastor position at a church in Milledgeville, Georgia.  Mrs. Stewart taught at Putnam County High School for four years.  Mrs. Stewart taught 9th - 12th grade in those four years with her students having great success on standardized tests & gaining knowledge of how math can really be used in students' futures.

Mrs. Stewart came to Houston County in the fall of 2012 to work at Houston County High School and has taught 9th and 10th grade math.  She completed her Masters of Education degree through Valdosta State University in Curriculum & Instruction/Accomplished Teaching.

Mrs. Stewart resides in her native Perry with her husband, Daniel and their two beautiful children, Brayden & Georgia.
